Goodbye Stracciatella
As part of tanzhaus nrw’s 25th anniversary, Junges Tanzhaus presents the piece Goodbye Stracciatella, which Tabea Martin developed for Compagnie BewegGrund. This humoristic and enthusiastic play deals with the topics of sacrifice and friendship. What can and cannot be sacrificed? What do we refuse to sacrifice? And is sacrifice solely unpleasant, or do we stand to gain something in the process?
Inspired by Philipp Lepenies’ book Verbot und Verzicht (Prohibition and Sacrifice) in which the author dissects sacrifice on a political level and concludes that socioeconomic transformation will not succeed without sacrifice, the piece reflects a friendship that is posing the same questions. What remains after all the sacrifice, when two people meet as they are?
Compagnie BewegGrund has been showing dance productions featuring artists with and without disabilities. In collaboration with Basel-based choreographer Tabea Martin, who has been guesting at tanzhaus nrw for years with her pieces for children and youths, this resulted in an inclusive play for the whole family. Alongside the performances, several different mediation formats by an inclusive team are on offer in which children are playfully introduced to the performance while making their own movement experiences.
