Flamenca

Belén López was a discovery of the flamenco scene when she was still a child and has by now become one of the greats in Spanish flamenco “tablaos”. In Flamenca, Belén Lopéz sheds the image of the child prodigy, appearing as the mature woman she grew into through the years. Simultaneously agile and vivacious as she dances, tender and equally concise when she stomps her “zapateados”, flamenco will be written here in its female form. Flamenca is a classic piece of flamenco in which Belén Lopéz moves through different flamenco styles together with dancer Paul Vaquero as well as with six musicians. She amazes us with her speed and precision as well as with her masterful employment of tempo and accentuation. She proudly reveals, embodies, and inundates the usual eccentric images of flamenco. She takes us on a journey through the expressions of this dance culture in this way – with power and fire and an immaculate technique that serves the heart.
