Flamenco Festival

We welcome you to the 2021 edition of the Flamenco Festival! Curated by choreographer Juan Carlos Lérida for the first time, the five-day festival presents flamenco with a contemporary orientation. Together with artists who deal with topical social issues and develop the tradition in dance from their own perspective, the Flamenco Festival 2021 opens spaces in which to reflect on community and devise new, post-pandemic scenarios. With performances that, alongside a classical approach, touch on a dialogue with electronic music, urban dance styles, and flamenco, talk formats that stimulate exchange both virtually as well as on site at tanzhaus nrw, and with workshops that enable the audience to have experiences, both of dance as well as of music.
