Which Bodies
Fri 12.09. – Sun 14.09.2025
With Which Bodies – the first edition of Tanzt euch zusammen! (Dance yourself together!) – dancer and choreographer Saïdo Lehlouh initiates an artistic connection between tanzhaus nrw and Worringer Platz. Lehlouh, whose choreographic work has received wide recognition both at tanzhaus nrw and in public spaces throughout Düsseldorf, is known for his sensitive artistic approach, bringing together artists from various disciplines, styles, generations, and levels of experience.
Which Bodies is an invitation to explore deep encounters – between bodies, urban spaces, and society. It opens with the guest performance STUCK by Mounia Nassangar. The wider program features three collaborative projects in which Lehlouh works with emerging artists from Düsseldorf and North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim: to create spaces for artistic exchange, pass on knowledge, and strengthen the local and regional scene in a sustainable way.
Which Bodies asks: How do bodies encounter one another in urban environments? Which bodies are seen – and which are overlooked? Who benefits from existing structures – and who is excluded?
A central element of the project is a photographic installation, developed in collaboration with photographer Ludovic Schuld, choreographer and dancer Ruby, and with the participation of residents from House of Friends. The installation documents authetic encounters on Worringer Platz while also staging moments of closeness, tenderness, community, and joy. It invites us to pause, engage in dialogue, and imagine alternative ways of living together in the city.
In a performative reading by author Olga Karaseva, dancer Suzanne Degennaro, and musician Carl-Noë Struck, new narratives of Worringer Platz are explored – stories that are not (yet) reality, but perhaps could be. This format, too, invites us to reflect and dream: a reading about arriving in multiple cities, bodies, and identities, without ever leaving the bench.
The program concludes with the participatory project Physical Encounters, which brings together people from the neighborhood, dancers, and non-dancers for one week. Led by choreographic team Ruby & Kevosh and Carl-Noë Struck, the group develops a collective story of movement and connection, culminating in a presentation on the main stage at tanzhaus nrw.
