Sprungbrett <> Tanzrecherche NRW
For the fifth time, the festival tanz nrw and the NRW KULTURsekreteriat offer with the cooperation project SPRUNGBRETT <> TANZRECHERCHE NRW a platform for young artists and graduates with their work focus loated in NRW from the fields of dance, choreography and performance, for the deepening and exploration of new ideas and reflected examination of personal experiences. To make this possible, they are provided with a two-week residency at each of the two production centers, tanzhaus nrw and PACT Zollverein. This year, two artist collectives have been invited. During the festival they will present their research work and intensive debates.
Yasmin Fahbod, Mina Khani and Zahra Mousawy are the Hiraeth collective. They performatively explore their own style of dance, movement and body language, which are mediated through bodies that are at the intersection of different oppressions. They question the different meanings of dance and present the contrast between bodies that can move and dance freely and those that feel fear and pressure due to trauma through dance.
In a cross-disciplinary research between dance, music, installation and theoretical exploration, "iSaAc Espinoza Hidrobo, Roman Jungblut and Visiting Beings" look at what decolonisation can mean and how differently the participants themselves are positioned within these processes: What does “Verortung” mean, what the loss of places - and how can new places be created? Under the title "Pink Bullroarer Shelter", they are working on a ritual, in search of voices from different times and perspectives.
