OK BOOMER is a musical revue that chafes at feminist discourses, a dance evening, a karaoke event, a generation-crossing chart show, an (in)official hit list. AHH takes us on a time travel trip, across and queer, through the last few decades in pop discourse: From soft pop to those still not represented, or underrepresented, artists of colour. Searching for them, OK BOOMER dives into an archive in which we – apart from existing songs – find everything we have been missing: We rewrite, reinterpret, compose, and help us to all those songs we would have wished for. At the same time, the evening is asking for our own standing on the generational ladder. Can we simply overwrite obsolete feminist discourses, yet still appreciate them? What expectations could we, in turn, direct towards the younger generation? AHH close the gaps in the decades, blur the lines between real and fictitious archive and deliver a queered superlative gala!
