The Factory Artist concept, conceived by Artistic and Managing Director Bettina Masuch, developed into a great opportunity for international and regional artists over the years, and has always been a centrepiece at the heart of tanzhaus nrw. Between 2014 and 2022, invitations were issued to three stylistically distinct choreographers per round, to enter into a continuous work relationship with tanzhaus nrw for the duration of two years. The house became a strong contact point as well as a space for intensive exchange that fostered lasting working and production as well as the personal artistic development of the Factory Artists. The Factory Finale celebrates the conclusion of eight successful years under Bettina Masuch’s direction, involving all the Factory Artists. The artistic positions displayed by the nine Factory Artists will be framed by Marathon Talks and the publication of the workbook GEGENWART CHOREOGRAFIEREN.
