Ein Straßenbahn-Bock mit Stoppschild in Schwarz-weiß. Endstation. Im Hintergrund ist eine Straße.

When we talk about physical testimony, it makes sense that this body says: collapse – and also that this body struggles to behave like a body that is collapsing. A body that is too tired to collapse, but which naturally has to collapse, only doesn't know how.

I only know how to push through
I need to learn how to break down.

In A Change is as Good as a Rest, the ensemble SANFTE ARBEIT wanted to explore the rhythmisation of our lives through work in a live audio and dance piece and practise breaking out of a linear temporality determined by an uninterrupted sequence of activities.

After the first week of rehearsals, a health crisis interrupts production.

The project must be suspended for the time being, hopefully only postponed.

Instead of rehearsing, the ensemble takes up residence in an apartment and compensates for a healthcare system on summer break. A ______ __ __Good __ __ Rest documents the tender and brutal intrusion of the theme into the project. Instead of a play, what emerges is an insight into a moment of suspended production. A performative reading / exhibition / conversation narrates, along the gaps of a half-born play, the attempt to find a home for each other in the crisis and the necessary break.

Duration: 60 mins.
