Beyond the performances, tanzhaus nrw offers a production and rehearsal space for artists. The productions will be shown on the tanzhaus nrw stage at a later date. Interested visitors have the opportunity to experience the artists' work and their production processes first-hand by attending an open rehearsal.

The NRW premiere of La Vacabose by Maria Mercedes Flores Mujica will take place on 04.04. at tanzhaus nrw. The Cologne-based choreographer is currently K3 resident artist at Kampnagel in Hamburg, where the new piece will be premiered on March 20. In an open rehearsal, Maria Mercedes Flores Mujica and her team will share the current state of their work with an interested audience and try out different seating options in the space and approaches to the piece. La Vacabose describes the state when the party is over but people are still dancing. Between ecstasy, slowness, drunkenness and excess, the performers go through different states of being. They create a space for celebration, retreat, unfolding and transformation. The sound of the Venezuelan folk dance Joropo evokes landscapes of the savannah and transforms them into street parties where cows, humans, demons and goddesses dance together.
