Bodyfrequencies – Open Dance Floor

Choreographer Doris Uhlich – a central protagonist in the Austrian dance scene, last presenting at tanzhaus nrw with TANK (2019) – and DJ Boris Kopeinig have been collaborating since 2014. They will convey their shared interest in the physical effects of sound during this workshop course offered by the Akademie der Kulturellen Bildung Remscheid. The focus of this course will be their research into past and present: The philosophy of the flesh, the body as the epicentre of action and change, the relation between duration and movement, exhaustion and charging, the concept of energetic icons. An experience of energy transfer, between one another and with the space, will be made traceable. By way of long improvisations, the studio will become an experiential room in which personal deep-seated movement patterns and perceptions of dance will gain a possibility to transform, to sort themselves out anew, or differently. For the Open Dance Floor, the classroom and the practices shared within will be opened for several more interested people. All levels, all abilities, all ages, all genders, everybody welcome!
