Hello and welcome to HARTMANNMUELLER’s dream world. You are right amongst a community of jesters* and clowns*. Do you wonder why you are being addressed directly? The answer is simple: We would like to be close to you. Because we need you for this voyage into that very personal emotional experience that is “NO FUN”. Does that sound absurd? Well, it is. We dance the very last dance. What a dilemma! Does this sound dramatic? Well, it is. Because, yes, times are hard, and we, too, attempt to find a path for ourselves. One request: Please accompany us on this journey. Take your own space. Because this is all about feeling free. So, jesters* of the world, unite!

HARTMANNMUELLER’s works are characterised by their search for new forms of expression that draw their influences from film and pop culture aesthetics. Over the course of the last six years, they came up with seven stage productions situated between dance, performance and the visual arts that were all equally marked by humour as well as seriousness. HARTMANNMUELLER was founded by Simon Hartmann and Daniel Ernesto Mueller in 2011, the two having met during their studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. For the 2021 -2023 period, HARTMANNMUELLER are recipients of the Support Grant for Excellence of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for the first time, and they will enter a new artistic phase with it: Hartmann and Mueller leave their double functions as both choreographers and performers, so typical for their works up to now, in “NO FUN”, working exclusively as choreographers for the first time.

Duration: 90 min.
