Young Tanzhaus

No/Fear

CANCELLED: Jugendkompanie & Zorzal & Bürgerhaus Reisholz
Big stage
Dates
28.05.2020 – 28.05.2020

Three initiatives, all with close ties to tanzhaus nrw and featuring young dancers, present the outcome of their collaborative effort over the course of one evening. The tanzhaus nrw youth company under Takao Baba’s direction received tuition in various styles from a number of different teachers in the last two years. In a choreography on the topic of fear, which the young dancers developed themselves, the youths gather their influences and experiences here.
Young dance collective Zorzal originated from a project directed by artists Franky Dee (urban) and Misael López (Physical Theatre). The focus here is on creative collaboration. Improvisation is linked to contemporary dance elements and urban dance styles. In “Wenn Alice wiederkäme (If Alice returned)”, the world-famous character from the classic children’s book Alice in Wonderland encounters today’s world. Wouldn’t Alice perceive our current living reality as far crazier than everything she experienced while stepping “through the looking glass”?
“HipHop alive“ is the result of a longstanding collaboration between tanzhaus nrw and Bürgerhaus Reisholz and the St. Elisabeth school. Over the course of the last year and within the frame of this cooperation, the pupils developed a choreography together with artists Rayboom and Tamara Rahil.

Duration: 90 min.
