Ein Berg aus Stoffen unter dem ein Mensch begraben liegt.

Birds change their plumage, snakes shed their skins, and the hermit crab is always on the lookout for a new costume. And we humans? Do we just stay in the same skin all the time? “PELLE” is a staging for children and grownups that are near to them. This performance literally goes skin deep. Displaying microscopic interest, we take an exacting look at the skin and the body. Like biologists on an expedition, we explore the bodily landscape: The elbow is a mountain, the tongue a trampoline, the veins are roads, and our hair is a forest. With the means provided by dance, Alfredo Zinola opens up a space for children and adults, a space in which one’s own body becomes the subject of exploration. What do the bodies look like? How do they move? How do they meet?

Alfredo Zinola, educated in dance at the Folkwang University for the Arts in Essen and elsewhere, has already presented a number of plays for a young audience at tanzhaus nrw: In „BOMBA MIX“, he tried out the toy battle, in „PARTY“, he went on to rock the stage together with the kids. He creates new worlds with body, movement, light and costumes, new worlds in elaborate stage spaces that are rather impressive, not only for children. Alfredo Zinola and his partners in dance and choreography empower the fantasy in the young ones because they investigate the body in its social arrangements through choreography.
