Tango Café: Tango for people with Parkinson's Disease

Workshop with Andrea

In these lessons you can get to know the basic principles of Tango Argentino and practice them in a relaxed setting, according to your own abilities. The Argentine tango is a couple dance based on improvisation, in which empathy and coordination between one's own movements and those of the dance partner are constantly trained. The musical diversity of the tango orchestras also offers plenty of scope for individual interpretation. These properties of Tango Argentino are particularly suitable for people with motor impairments. Clinical studies in people with Parkinson's disease in recent years have shown that Tango Argentino can even significantly reduce their symptoms. People with other neurodegenerative diseases and similar symptoms are also welcome to take part. No previous knowledge is required. You don't have to bring a dance partner with you. The lessons are led by Andrea Stegmaier del Prado. She is a trained stage dancer and dance teacher and has been a long-time lecturer for Tango Argentino at the tanzhaus nrw.

Registration not required, single ticket €12, payable on site as long as there are still places available.
