Under the calling DANCING IN PUBLIC, tanzhaus nrw will begin an examination of resisting movements and the urgent, political dimensions of dance in public space during the 23/24 season. The programme researches the physicalness of communities and the connections between choreography and emotions. We do not only reinvigorate our spaces and stages at Erkrather Straße in this way, we rather deliver dance and movement into Düsseldorf urban space! We will present dancing publicities in the city while creating new publicities for dance alongside other proposals to participate in, to learn, and to share. With dance, we can shape and directly experience spaces of possibility and solidary care – despite precarious living conditions and anxieties about the future.
