Open Class: Classical Ballet

Open Class with Daniel Smith

This ballet class focuses on improving strength, flexibility and artistic expression. Through a holistic approach, dance body awareness is refined and placement is analyzed for greater freedom of movement. Classes follow a standard structure of ballet barre and center exercises and are aimed at both classical and contemporary dancers who want to expand their artistic range. The course is also suitable for those returning to dancing after a break.

Registration not required, single ticket 20 € / concession. 17 €, ten ticket 190 € / reduced. 160 €, payable on site

Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith is a freelance Creator/Performer/Educator. He was born in Vancouver Canada and currently lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Since 2022 after many years of working as a professional dancer in various companies, he shifted focus to working primarily on his own creative projects as well as collaborations with other artists. Until now his pieces have been shown on the stages of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the tanzhaus nrw and the Werkraum Göttingen.
Before this he has been employed as a soloist with the Ballett am Rhein. He received his formal dance education at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. He was also engaged as a company artist with Ballett Magdeburg, Colorado Ballet, and the National Ballet Of Canada. Throughout his career, he had the pleasure of collaborating with many noted choreographers on new creations as well as existing repertoire.
