A moment between falling and flying. Between control and letting go. Between I and we. in_der_schwebe begins in this in-between space – a stage project that feels like a pulsating club: vibrating, fleeting, intense. Moments are created here in which time is drawn out, bodies become lighter, and community suddenly becomes palpable.
in_der_schwebe is a participatory vielleicht_regen_ production, co-produced with tanzhaus nrw. Children and youths between the ages of 10 to 18 are at the centre of the artistic process. Together with the collective, they develop an immersive performance dealing on the topics of letting go, belonging, and collective experience.
The starting point will be questions that many young people are concerned about and that have come up in the collaboration with the artists and the young people up to this point: How can you leave things behind? When do you feel carried – and when do you feel alone? What does it mean to be a part of a group? In a time of social insecurities, the project directs its gaze onto personal as well as everyday experiences: Quarrels, expectations, pressure, but also friendship, levity, and the need to simply let go.
The stage becomes a social and sensual space of experience. Inspired by club and concert aesthetics, an atmosphere of beats, light, movement and projection will be created. The audience will be right in the middle of everything that is happening without needing to intervene themselves. A performance that lets you experience: Letting go is not a solitary act. It is a shared process – carried by trust, movement, and the courage to get lost in abeyance.

vielleicht_regen_ is an interdisciplinary team around artists Josep Caballero García (choreography, Berlin), Kamila Kurczewski (images & video, Düsseldorf), and Fabian Schulz (sound & music, Düsseldorf). The collective aims to provide visibility to marginalised and often unheard children’s and youth’s voices and to transfer their perspectives into artistic processes and results.
The collective was founded in 2021, during the pandemic, immediately realising their first digital film premiere (Hey Du!) in collaboration with the Wim Wenders Gymnasium and tanzhaus nrw. From this intense and successful collaboration grew the first stage production with young people at tanzhaus nrw in 2022 (Hey Du! Jetzt). Since then, two more productions followed (Hey Du! Next, 2023; vielleicht_regen_wir_uns_zufall, 2024).

Apart from the production work for tanzhaus nrw’s Grand Stage, the collective has taken it up as their task to invite young people to conduct their own artistic research in the monthly “KLUB” format at tanzhaus nrw. Its purpose is to provide people between the ages of 11 and 18 years expression and visibility through artistic means.
