Zwei Personen lehnen auf Holztisch, eine blickt seitlich zum Fenster, eine mit Rücken zur Kamera, künstliches warmes Licht.

Marked by life in a moment of continuing violence and destruction, Untitled (briefly here bright) dwells on conditions of exhaustion, tenderness, and stopped time. Dance becomes a letter – reminiscing, cautious, patient and introspective – that unfolds in small gestures of continuous attention and listening. A choreography that insists on staying near to that which is almost imperceptible: A body tilting, a gaze held, a shifting of weight, a remote, trembling voice. Presence extends. Time condenses. Without resolution or culmination, Untitled (briefly here bright) inhabits presence as a fragile state. Tenderness becomes way in which to confront collapse. Intimacy becomes a form of bearing witness. Instead of a spectacle, a density accrues in the space – comprised of memory, grief, and the labor of carrying on. What remains after loss is a fragile return to life, to practice.

kiana rezvani (born in Western Iran, currently living in Berlin) is an artist, choreographer, and researcher and develops choreographic as well as performative formats that combine dance, text, video, and voice. The artistic practice centres around forgotten, untold, hidden and suppressed stories and narratives. By weaving together personal and collective memories as well as through uncovering specific parallels and intersections, kiana’s works create new relations and spaces of possibility. She deals critically with colonial and imperialist constructions and opens spaces of poetic resilience.

Concept, choreography, performance, costumes: kiana rezvani. Created with and performed by: jee chan, Elvan Tekin. Sound: Lou Drago. Developed in collaboration and dialogue with: Jette Büchsenschütz, Ewa Dziarnowska, Isabelle Edi, stefan pente.
