DUB-KE: Adventure in Arab Techno
The Alliance of International Production Houses has not only been specialising on the international performing arts for the last ten years but also on local artistic strategy. In urban neighbourhoods, on-site networks and in collaboration with self-empowering communities, a diverse and viral communal art emerges. At The “Claiming Common Spaces” festival in Düsseldorf, the Alliance members and their partners invite the audience to an encounter.
More than a party! Dub-KE invites us into the energetic dance universe of non-Western club culture. At the Migrantpolitan on Hamburg’s Kampnagel, it is being celebrated frenetically. For the festival opening, DUB-KE connects with local amateurs of the Levantine tradition. For DUB-KE is derived from DABKEH and offers an experience full of love and a fascinating atmosphere. It starts with a crash course in dabkeh. Later in the evening, traditional live beats mingle with fat bass lines. No previous knowledge necessary!
As part of the Alliance of International Production Houses, it receives grants from funds provided by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
