A star-studded assembly of international tap artists congregates on the grand stage to celebrate the 28th gala as part of the TAP AHEAD Festival! Rich in rhythm, courageous in improvisation, and with guaranteed musical finesse, tanzhaus nrw presents “Tap at its best”.
The festival artists give visibility to all variations of contemporary tap dance, and they, along with the Roman Babik Trio, create a fascinating mosaic of contemporary tap dance art through improvisation, virtuosic rhythm play, and unorthodox connections.
T.A.P. – The Augmented Project will once again be part of this year's gala. Led by Daniel Luka, this project group of academy students combines traditional rhythm tap with contemporary influences from music, theater, and performance. The performance intertwines dance, video, and digital art, thus expanding tap dance into the virtual space.
