Drei Menschen sitzen nebeneinander.

A dance piece for the smallest audiences on finding in transformation

A dance world that tells us about the small scratching forest noises. About the creatures that inhabit the forest and the creatures that change it. But beware: Is everything always as it seems? Or could everything be entirely different? Sommer*Nacht*Traum invites the audience to experience the forest’s stories and to become a part of it. A play to watch and to take part in!

For Sommer*Nacht*Traum, the artistic team collaborated with two kindergartens with a focus on hearing, inserting their impulses into the development of the piece. On stage, two dancers and one musician act. Starting from the Shakespeare classic, the piece asks what is normal or typical: Does a donkey have to be a donkey because it looks like it? And when do we learn these ascriptions? In the magical forest, everything can be considered anew: With dance, music, costuming, and light, the atmosphere of the magical forest is created on stage, and almost anything seems possible.

Andreas Simon and Anna Brass constitute body art duo Brass und Simon Performance Art which conducts research across divisions, age groups, and genres: Their focus lies on sociocultural projects with children and youths, professional concept performances and pieces for children aged three and up. In their longstanding collaboration, Brass and Simon complement each other in their respective core areas of dance and theatre. This is connected to the trial of new approaches to aesthetic education in the transitional fields of performance and interactivity with a focus on dance and theatre for the very smallest audience. Brass und Simon Performance Art take a stand for contemporary, critical, participatory and democratic work.

From 3 years on up.

Choreography: Andreas Simon; Director / Dramaturgy: Anna Brass; Dance: Camila Scholtbach, Felipe González Berrios; Music: Till Menzer.
