metaphorical food content: reflection smeared on bread

Ein Toastbrot liegt auf einem Teller. In das Toastbrot ist ein lächelndes Gesicht reingeschnitten.

What has happened in the condensed encounter of voices, practices and aesthetics between TikTok, dance and theatre? Do tender approaches, caring interventions, embraces that have long since become commonplace leave an unsettled stomach? Has a hunger for more arisen? Who still has TikTok-related feelings stuck in their throat?
Looking back, we spread encounters, perspectives and open questions on our bread for breakfast. In jointly designed, unpredictable toppings, ways of perceiving and acting can be questioned, enriched and shared for tasting. Impressions and perspectives on the interweaving of theatre, TikTok and artistic mediation are translated into metaphorical food content!

Jane Eschment has been invited by the Alliance of International Production Houses to accompany and reflect on the ‘Art and Encounters’ series of events. She works as an art and theatre educator with children and adults in independent projects and at the Chair of Aesthetic Education at the University of Cologne.
She teaches in artistic teacher training, develops formats for aesthetic-performative research and reflection spaces for discrimination-critical teacher training. She is interested in artistic mediation as the invention and testing of aesthetic spaces of experience, encounter and discourse that are based on indeterminacy and initiate non-linear, subjective and collaborative movements. Since 2015, she has been collaborating with the FFT Düsseldorf on questions and formats of dialogue between theatre and school.
