Emma Martin / United Fall
Alone in the nowhere on a forest clearing, a journey through a wild and beautiful landscape of fear, isolation, fantasy, and freedom unfurls, in and around a car wreck. Birdboy opens the door to the innermost world of an adolescent who does not seem to belong, narrated in a poetic and masterful way. In an interplay of dance, sound, and objects, dancer Kévin Coquelard suddenly encounters peculiar glowing creatures that float through the stage space like jellyfish. The microcosm of one individual morphs into a universal celebration of the uniqueness of every human being. An homage to all those who are searching for their place in the world.
Birdboy is a dance piece from Ireland that was created for both young and adult audiences.
