Sombra Efímera II
Instead of employing classical flamenco text, Eduardo Guerrero works with Sufi poetry and channels its ample emotional charge for another perspective on flamenco as well as utilising it for a reflection on ephemerality. Next to Sufi culture, Eduardo Guerrero looks for the ephemeral in architecture: in spaces that exude fugacity and heavy symbolism. On stage, he creates a dreamlike site of memories, personal as well as shared: There is, for example, a large curtain made of garments that hold meaning for their respective owners – such as the baby clothes belonging to Javier Ibáñez, who just became a father, or a pink robe that reminds Eduardo Guerrero of his grandmother –, and this curtain turns into a recollective sculpture.
