with works by Flockey Ocscor & BADBADNOTGOOD, Hannah Krebs & Lena Kunz and Darko Radosavljev
Now & Next is the platform for art creatives with a connection to North Rhine-Westphalia working in the fields of choreography, performance, video, installation or in interdisciplinary constellations. Here, they are invited to present first projects in all stages of development, ranging from research to work in progress or even completed plays.
The Film “Cashmere” by Düsseldorf hip hop dancer Flockey Ocscor, set to the sound of Canadian musician BADBADNOTGOOD, tells the autobiographic tale of Flockey himself. At the same time, the work reflects the fate of his home country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ravaged by civil war and exploitation.
In the interdisciplinary performance “I have seen your face on better days”, the first instalment in a trilogy, choreographer and dancer Hannah Krebs, visual artist Pernilla Henrikson and dance researcher Lena Kunz physically and verbally explore the question how to deal with physical absence in space and movement.
In the dance solo “Seascape”, choreographer and dancer Darko Radosavljev picks up the topic of the eventful journey, not implementing the arrival as the final destination. He develops a landscape of moving memories, immediately inspiring exchange and digression. So, “Seascape” is dedicated to physical memory and the relived moment, much like a painting depicting the sea.
