ContaKids with parents

Course with Nora Pfahl

ContaKids invites parents and children to spend exclusive time together and get moving through physical contact. We do gymnastics and dance together, which strengthens the child's motor skills and self-confidence. The parents or caregivers learn to see the children as equals in a playful setting and to support them unconditionally. The focus here is on having fun while exercising together, while – at the same time – the relationship of trust between parents and child can grow. The founder of the “ContaKids” methodology is the Israeli dancer Itay Yatuv. At a festival in 2011 that was dedicated to contact improvisation, he danced with his then two-year-old daughter Sophie and became known online through the video recordings. Nora was trained by Itay Yatuv and is currently one of around 300 teachers worldwide. No previous knowledge is required. Dancing is always done together, so we ask the child's parents or other caregivers to come in training clothes and bring a mat.
