Contemporary Dance

Course with Dina ed Dik

The course is aimed at dancers with previous knowledge of contemporary dance and intermediate level contemporary dance who would like to immerse themselves in a style characterized by flowing, expansive movement. It should invite you to move freely and musically within the exercises and small choreographies.
The participants should get a feeling for their individual physical possibilities with which they can acquire exercise.

The warm-up consists of a structured structure in which you work towards a short choreography using stretching exercises based on yoga, pliés, tendus, swings in the middle, as well as small sequences that prepare you for contemporary floor work.
At the end of the lesson we work on choreographies/combinations that are built up steadily and continuously.

We also welcome dancers who consider themselves to be beginners with prior knowledge and would like to get to know a different, new style, as well as dancers who have previously danced classical ballet or another style and would like to try something new.

The main thing is to make the soil your own, i. e. To learn to use it correctly, to integrate it correctly into the movements and to be able to work your own body into the soil in a healthy and flowing manner.
Beginners in contemporary dance who may have already gained some experience in another dance form are very welcome.
But beginners without much prior knowledge who have the confidence to learn quickly will also get along well and are warmly welcome.

In addition to floor work, we also learn exercises and smaller sequences that do not take place on the floor, with which we move upright through the room. The course should also invite you to move freely and musically within the exercises and small choreographies. The participants should get a feeling for their individual physical possibilities with which they can acquire exercise.

At the end of the lesson, small choreographies/combinations are worked out, which we build on continuously.
