Dancing with baby

Course with Wibke Hartewig

This workshop is aimed at parents and babies between 4 and 12 months. Both adults and children get their money's worth here: the focus is on the fun of dancing and physical interaction. A diverse musical mix and elements of different dance styles invite you to playfully try out new forms of movement. The movement offerings include contemporary dance, swing and tango, African, Latin and Gaga. The contact between the small and large partners always remains central. The adults' joy in movement is directly transferred to the baby - and vice versa. The babies dance along equally: sometimes on mom or dad's arms and sometimes from the floor, watching and participating. At the same time, the ability to move, musicality and the parent-child bond are strengthened.

For adults with babies aged 4 to 12 months. No previous knowledge is required. Please come in training clothes.

Wibke Hartewig ist seit ihrer Jugend begeisterte Tänzerin und trainierte u.a. Ballett, Modern Dance, Zeitgenössisch, Butho, Tanztheater, Contact Improvisation, BMC, Tango und Gaga bei Tänzer*innen wie Tadashi Endo, Anna Pocher, Minako Seki, Frauke Havemann, LaborGras, Frey Faust, Catharina Gadelha und Ale Jara. Als promovierte Tanz- und Theaterwissenschaftlerin (Ruhr-Universität Bochum und Royal Holloway, University of London) unterrichtete sie u.a. an der Folkwang Universität der Künste im Studiengang Tanz und seit 2013 an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main im Studiengang Contemporary Dance Education. Sie ist als freischaffende Tanzpädagogin und Tanzwissenschaftlerin tätig. Durch ihre zusätzliche Ausbildung zur Integrativen Tanztherapeutin DGT cand. bringt sie eine besondere Sensibilität für den Umgang mit persönlichen Themen der Tanzenden mit. Mit ihrem jüngeren Sohn entwickelte sie ihr „Tanzen mit Baby“, das sie seit 2017 in Köln anbietet.
