Afro Pop

Course with Oboja Adu

Oboja created the unique Afro Pop dance style. He mixes elements of traditional African dances with other dance forms such as Soul Train, Robot and Breakdance. African popular music is now also given the abbreviation Afropop and formulates the synthesis of a wide variety of influences. In his lessons, Oboja emphasizes rhythm and physical exercises in order to first develop a feeling for the music and the movement vocabulary. Only then can the rich potential of this energetically charged dance style be experienced by the participants, because, according to Oboja: “Dance and music are an expression of your attitude to life.”
