Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique®

Open Class with Joseph P. Cooksey

This method unites classical ballet principles with the anatomic foundations for movement and was originated by American-Italian dancer and teacher Zena Rommet. The training utilises economic muscle employment and offers a fundament for every kind of dance movement. Floor-Barre™ opens a pathway to a faster development and to perfection in dancers’ techniques and helps improve movement orientation, lengthens the muscles and strengthens the joints while aiding in the achievement of the highest extent of stretching capabilities possible. It also enhances body tension and effectively extends the number of active dance years, more benefits granted by the training. Not least, Floor-Barre™ serves well in rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. Joseph P. Cooksey is a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique® teacher as well as Master Teacher at their respective annual certifications.
