The Fonds Darstellende Künste (Performing Arts Fund) Residency Grant, in cooperation with the Alliance of International Production Houses, enabled 21 artists and collectives to experiment as well as to attempt new concepts in practice. Now all participants have been invited to Düsseldorf for reflection and exchange. Five residency formations will provide insight into their work as part of a feedback session. In a shared stage setting, each group will be given 15 minutes to present. There will be space and time for feedback afterwards, hosted by Alisa Hecke.

Brig Huezo: GliTCHCORE WOUNDS: A Digital Dance Tragedy

GliTCHCORE WOUNDS: A Digital Dance Tragedy was developed as part of a hybrid, research-based residency that explored dance in dialogue with digital technologies such as motion tracking, 3D environments, and interactive interfaces. Rather than producing a finished stage work, the project functioned as an open laboratory for experimenting with glitch choreographies and shifting forms of digital and physical embodiment.

Elsa Artmann / SANFTE ARBEIT: A ______ __ __ Good __ _ Rest

Break Down Diary

In the research project A Crash is as Good as Resisting a Pull, we focused on the rhythmisation of our lives through work and attempted to bend, stretch or break ideas of well-spent time with ambivalent impulses of persistance, cessation, postponement and delay. On the occasion of a nevertheless unforeseen interruption of this process, we encounter a selection of past moments in our ensemble’s history in which something almost broke, illuminating our attempts at smoothing things over and the traces they left behind.

go plastic company: RETROMANIA – work in progress

RETROMANIA is the go plastic company’s current piece of research, exploring vaporwave as an aesthetic and content-based form of expression for digital nostalgia. The focus is on the body, memory and accessibility. At the intersection of choreography, sound, text and textiles, go plastic is working on the third emotional state (after anger (2022) and melancholy (2023)) of their artistic research, which will result in a new stage production in 2026.

sIk – should-I-know: re👁gazing

Surveillance cameras watch us – but who watches back? Today, citizens also film injustices (e.g. police violence). Artistic research asks: How does surveillance feel? We examine places such as airports, investigate surveillance techniques and play with perspectives: Who controls whom?

Kysy Fischer und ABA NAIA: Obscenas

Obscenas is a research project by Kysy Fischer and ABA NAIA that forms the basis for the performance Naked and Exhausted (AT), consisting of two interwine acts. Exhausted, performed by Rafaella Marques, deals with the obscenity of language – with its fractures, its violence, its explosive power and exhaustion. With irony and humour, Marques developed the text at the piek of hormonal changes and an altered consciousness towards the world and the stage during her puerperium.
