Film Programme

(Resistance and Memory)

This programme encompasses seven international dance and short films that perceive body and movement as the expression of identity, memory, and insurrection. Between dream and reality, past and present, they tell of internal and external resistance – against oblivion, shame, social expectations, and loss.

With films by Agafia Thekla Popowska, Albert Rask, Antonio La Montanara, Emma Evelein, Hadi Moussally, Leonardo Martinelli and Michael Maurissens.                   

(Bodies make (hi)stories)

Dance, film, and poetry meet in this programme. Bodies become archives of remembrance, language, and resistance – they write what words alone fail to capture. These films intertwine movement with verse by American feminist and poet Adrienne Rich, with Fernando Pessoa’s floating identity figures and with Estonian slam poet Joona Veelmaa’s powerful immediacy.
