LOS CUERPOS CELESTES, “celestial bodies” in English, is a danced reflection on humankind’s place in the universe. How do we currently shape relationships, both with ourselves as well as with others? The body dancing flamenco in LOS CUERPOS CELESTES appears as a comet, a planet, or as a sun in its orbit in the infinite vastness of the universe. The dancers on stage do not generate figures, they rather negotiate the body as the material with which we express ideas, emotions, and sensations. Marco Vargas and Chloé Brûlé employ aesthetic means in unexpected ways in their new play, presenting an exciting contemporary flamenco.

Marco Vargas comes from Sevilla. Chloé Brûlé is Canadian. They have been jointly managing their company Marco Vargas & Chloé Brûlé since 2005, continually producing performances and touring internationally. In their work together, they have been successful in creating their own distinct language. Marco and Chloé always strive to establish a dialogue between contemporary dance and flamenco, simultaneously and constantly dealing with different realities in life.
