Düsseldorf choreographer Raimund Hoghe passed away, peacefully and unexpectedly, at the age of 72 on May 14th, 2021. He ranks among the most notable choreographers internationally, and he set aesthetic and political standards. In 2019, he was granted the prestigious title “Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” in recognition of his exceptional merits in the field of cultural collaboration between Germany and France. He received the Deutsche Tanzpreis (German Dance Award) the following year, the highest distinction dance in Germany has to bestow.
In their tribute to him, his dancers reinvigorate his choreographic work in excerpts, devotedly remembering him and his path as well as stories, people, emotions, and the power of music – that which Raimund Hoghe imparted on his audience.

“Don’t cry, there’ll be another spring I know our hearts will dance again
And sing again, so wait for me till then…“
Peggy Lee, from Young People, Old Voices (2002)
