Bachata

Course with Francesco Batti

Classroom classes will only take place live with participants at the tanzhaus. Should it no longer be possible to continue the face-to-face classes due to pandemic restrictions, the remaining dates would be cancelled.

Janis and Zoé inspire with their creative content and an innovative course concept with a lot of attention to detail. They teach this most passionate of dances, bachata, in a loose atmosphere. This style of music and dance originated from the Dominican Republic and is, just like Salsa, one of the social dances that bring together people from all over the world. Bachata remains fascinating because, although one can quickly learn it, you may always learn more. “We want to offer as much dance practice as possible, have fun together, and transfer the achievements learned onto the dancefloor through constant impulse.”

Portrait of Francesco Battigaglia

Francesco Batti

When Francesco Battigaglia wound up in a Salsa club in Miami completely by chance during a holiday, he was hooked. The colourful mixture of people he encountered, the effortlessness on display as well as the music sparked a Salsa fire in him. Originally a primary school and languages teacher, he gave up his vocation to completely dedicate his future life to dance and “would do so again in a heartbeat.” During an era when Latin-American dance was barely established in Germany, Francesco set about acquainting himself with the various local facets of Salsa on-site in New York, Puerto Rico and Cuba. As the first instructor in North Rhine-Westphalia, he also offers Salsa lady styling.
