ContaKids with parents

Course with Nora Pfahl

Classroom classes will only take place live with students in tanzhaus. If it is no longer possible to continue the face-to-face classes due to pandemic restrictions, the remaining dates would be cancelled.

ContaKids invites parents and children to spend some exclusive time together and encourages them to start moving through physical contact. They will exercise and dance together, which strengthens the child’s motor functions and confidence. The parents learn to accept the children as equals within a playful frame, supporting them unconditionally. The fun in moving together is in focus here, while – completely casually – the mutual trust bond between children and parents grows.
The “ContaKids” method was developed by Israeli dancer Itay Yatuv. He danced with his daughter, two years old at the time, at a 2011 festival devoted to contact improvisation, and the video recordings eventually became popular on the internet. Nora received her education from Itay Yasuv to become one of currently 300 teachers worldwide. No prior experience is needed. We will always dance together, so we advise the parents or other caregivers to the child to come wearing sports clothes and to bring a mat with you.
