FLOOR-BARRE® 60+

Course with Joseph P. Cooksey

This course is open to all ages, but tailored to seniors over 60. FLOOR-BARRE® is suitable for dance enthusiasts with and without previous dance experience and trains strength and body control in a gentle and therapeutic way. As a dance technique, FLOOR-BARRE® is particularly suitable for people who want to increase their everyday range of motion and helps prevent health conditions such as joint pain, arthritis and osteoporosis. The workout shifts the force of gravity to the floor, protecting joints while stretching tight muscles. Floor barre helps for better well-being and body awareness in everyday life and is accessible and beneficial for any dance level.

Joseph P. Cooksey

Dance educator Joseph P. Cooksey deploys Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique®, modern dance, modern ballet and jazz in his classes. He taught at the Juilliard School, at the Dance Theater of Harlem, at the Alvin Aily American Dance Center and at the Philadelphia College for the Performing Arts. He is a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique® teacher as well as a Master Teacher at their respective annual certifications.
