“As I have been teaching professional ballet class in different classical and contemporary ballet companies in the last decade, it is very important for me to believe in an artistic vision with responsibility and to shape up and motivate the dancers best.” As a teacher, Alfonso combines several ballet techniques and methods like the French and American Balanchine style in his ballet class. At the barre, his structure is based on the placement to find your centre, work on the standing leg, changing weight of the legs, work in elongation, coordination of arms and adding extra tilting elongation movements of the hip. At the same time, it is important for him to make the dancers move in the centre with highly designed combinations, especially in the pirouette’s exercises and jumps. To work in the dynamic and quickness of the French batterie and on the musicality to fulfil the movements on the music and give different colours and nuances. “I believe in the basic of the classical ballet and I have developed my own style in my training which I define contemporary ballet class.”
