City Groove
The event is free of charge. Registration is required, please click here.
City Groove utilises a newly developed smartphone app that functions like a mobile silent disco. Cologne-based dance artists Douglas Bateman, Hend Elbalouty, and Maria Mercedes Flores invite the audience to a danced guided city tour – to communal moving and grooving through the city, to a specially compiled playlist, while the app is employed together with the guests. The guided tour uses game design elements to tackle themes of the urban environment. The app transforms the city into a digital meeting point. The presentation during the TEMPS D’IMAGES festival edition is a work in progress. The completed app will be presented as part of guided tours at tanzhaus nrw in the summer of 2024.
Participants need to download the app to take part. Previous dance experience or knowledge is not required. All routes are wheelchair accessible.
“City Groove” is available in German, English, Arabic and Spanish.
