ANNNA³. The Worlds of Infinite Shifts

Her movement language is fragile yet a testament to astonishing strength. German-Cypriot choreographer Alexandra Waierstall succeeds, as few can, to harmonise the most conflicting human impulses in tense unison. With her new creation, she pursues her fertile collaboration with renowned Düsseldorf composer and pianist Volker Bertelmann aka HAUSCHKA, who created the sound for the performance. By means of recurring and changing material qualities, sound and mood relations, the dancers Sita Ostheimer, Anna Pehrsson and Karolina Szymura create physical landscapes of past and future, archaeology and Utopia. The bodies become spaces of reflection, connection and resistance, and thus, they negotiate existential processes such as life and transience. The performance shines a light on what is determined by fate by creating constantly changing situations and at the same time hinting at scenarios of what could have been or what could have become.  Alexandra Waierstall, Factory Artist at tanzhaus nrw from 2014 until 2016, creates choreographies, installations, situations, sounds, texts, films and pictures. Through experimentation with different production structures and artistic practices of exchange, she develops works for theatres, galleries, museums and urban spaces. Shortly after its premiere at Beethovenfest Bonn, the performance is presented at tanzhaus nrw.
