Hofmann&Lindholm

“hiding piece” premiere

Thu 28.04. – Sat 30.04. come and go between 17:00 – 22:00

On three days the stage opens for the vanishing. The artists collective Hofmann&Lindholm invites the audience to go into hiding in unsuspected moments and to disappear in the scenery. In other words – the performance takes place when the audience is not to be seen.
“Hiding Piece” can be seen as a walkable installation, an experimental arrangement, a durational performance, a deceiving maneuvre, a management of threats or a behavioural training for the emergency. Considering the growing tendency towards violence Hofmann&Lindholm aim at hiding place and ambush and ask: How is it possible to position oneself next to, over, above, behind and under somebody without being detected? “Hiding Place” focuses on hiding and makes the audience aware of itself as one’s own counterpart that camouflages, lies in wait and fortifies itself.
Hofmann&Lindholm are regarded as conceptual border crossers between the genres. As a collective of director and author
Hannah Hofmann and Sven Lindholm have realised multi-disciplinary works for 16 years moving between scenic, visual  and acoustic art. Next to artistic interventions in public spaces, performances and audio dramas they have produced installations and video works. Both studied Applied Theater Science in Gießen in the Nineties and teach at different institutions like the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Hochschule der Künste in Zürich. The Goethe Institute counts them amongst the most important 25 performance and directing artists in Germany.
