Who the f**k is B2B?
Back to Basics, in short B2B, is the name of the young dance company at tanzhaus nrw that was founded in 2014 under the heading of the HipHop dancers Rayboom and Kofie. B2B are 16 young and dedicated dancers between 13 and 20 years of age, who share the common dance language of HipHop. tanzhaus nrw wants to offer a chance to young people with different social and cultural backgrounds to find and to develop an artistic identity of their own. In doing so they are also offered the opportunity to work with professional choreographers of contemporary dance. In workshops, for example with the tanzhaus nrw factory artists Alexandra Waierstall, Jan Martens and Sebastian Matthias, B2B get to know techniques, principles and production methods of contemporary dance. With their research project “Tabi” under the heading of Takao Baba, B2B were invited to the “Young Dance Meeting”, a national contest of the “Berliner Festspiele” in 2015. Their first full length performance “Best Beast Rise Up” was produced with the choreographer Gui Garrido in October 2015. To be continued…
