Touch and Play

Workshop with

Ayu Permata Sari is currently a resident artist at tanzhaus nrw. The young choreographer and dancer lives and works in North Lampung, Indonesia, and has attracted international attention with her powerful performances that deal with the inscriptions of social and societal realities on the body.
In the workshop Touch and Move she introduces two methods: Touch and Move and Positive and Negative Space. The Touch and Move method encourages participants to become aware of their bodies. It is good for anyone who is interested in becoming aware of their body and movement. The focus on positive and negative space conveys an awareness of something bigger: the place, the space and the objects in the surrounding environment. The methods taught work like meditation, requiring concentration and a willingness to follow instructions.
The two-hour workshop offers an exciting opportunity to gain an insight into the artist's body work and exercises in concentration and body awareness. The programme is aimed at professional and non-professional dancers and participants of all levels and welcomes young people from the age of 17 as well as older people (up to 70 years). The working language is English.
