The sorcery: »f*** my keeper« & » Lim it«

Alida Dors & Takao Baba
Small Stage
Dates
29.05.2018 – 30.05.2018
Ein Tänzer mit tattowierten Armen und sportlicher Kleidung.

Four dancers, two choreographers, two short plays! Alida Dors and Takao Baba use the same four male dancers as well as the same topics for their respective “The sorcery” stagings: Restrictions and limitations of every kind. What powers does one summon or wrestle if prevented from taking action, from movement, or from speaking? And what powers are set in motion when one succeeds in breaking free from those constraints? Those topics set the tone not only in specifications given by themselves, but also in movement language. Alida Dors and Takao Baba show us two perspectives on the influence of self-imposed and social structures. Our own thoughts and fears might become our worst enemies. Who or what really determines what paths we wander?

Hip hop provides a common background for Alida Dors and Takao Baba. They have both been developing genre-crossing plays in which they connect contemporary dance and hip hop for years.
